TMC exclusive joins Bachmann enhanced Class 47 range
Bachmann Europe today unveiled a new wave of significant upgrades to its acclaimed Branchline Class 47 range, and we’re excited to reveal our all-new TMC exclusive model as a part of this next production run! The much-requested D1676 ‘Vulcan’ in BR Two-Tone Green with Full Yellow Ends.
This latest announcement builds on the groundbreaking 2021 release, which saw the Class 47 crowned Model of the Year and Innovation of the Year, thanks to its motorised radiator fans and realistic tinted glazing. Now, Bachmann is raising the bar once again for OO gauge diesel modelling.
New for 2026
All newly tooled models in the range will benefit from a suite of enhancements, particularly in SOUND FITTED and SOUND FITTED DELUXE variants:
✅ Auto-Release Coupling System – Hands-free uncoupling with DCC
✅ Bach-Up Stay Alive – Prevents sound dropouts and light flicker on dirty track
✅ Dual Fitted XL Speaker System – Featuring a patented TangBand enhanced bass speaker with passive radiator
✅ Refined cab glazing – Improved fit and clarity
✅ Redesigned snowploughs – Now attach to the chassis for realistic appearance and reliable performance on curves
These improvements ensure the Branchline Class 47 remains at the forefront of OO scale locomotive design, both in appearance and functionality.
TMC Exclusive – D1676 ‘Vulcan’
We're proud to present our exclusive model:
D1676 ‘Vulcan’, finished in BR Two-Tone Green with Full Yellow Ends – an iconic livery from the final years before British Rail's shift to corporate blue.
This exclusive celebrates the locomotive’s early years in service, when D1676 ran in green from its introduction in 1965 until its repaint to blue around 1973–74, coinciding with its renumbering to 47090 under TOPS.
With Bachmann’s latest upgrades, this model offers historic authenticity and cutting-edge tech — making it a must-have for collectors and transition-era modellers alike.
