Hornby is to produce two eye-catching new models, marking the 50th anniversary of Drax Power Station, the UK’s largest renewable power generator.

Hornby's forthcoming DCC-ready model is based around existing Railroad tooling, with a 21-pin socket, separate plastic buffers, and NEM couplings, making it an ideal addition for modellers expanding their modern freight fleet.

Complementing the locomotive is the Drax Biomass Gold Anniversary Wagon, authentically detailed and finished in matching gold. Representing the biomass wagons used to transport sustainable wood pellets to Drax, this model captures the power station’s transition from coal to renewable energy and includes running number 83700698001-0 with an accessory pack.
